Bath Township Fire Department Responds to Mulch Fire

Bath Township Fire Department was dispatched to 1596 Neubrecht Rd. on 7/21/24 at 3:18 PM due to a report of mulch on fire at Resource Recycling.

 

Upon arrival, initial units found a significant fire already in progress, which extended to other areas containing wood byproducts such as mulch, cut trees, brush, and large industrial crane mats/pallets.

Firefighters worked until 4:30 AM to contain the fire. In all, 18 different agencies were involved from four different counties. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and no injuries were reported. It is expected that the remaining fire will continue to burn and smoke for the next few days.

 

The fire department and Resource Recycling are collaborating to maintain control over the remaining fire.
